Seems to happen more in certain areas then others; Example: Being in a town (or near one) seems to cause the issue more often.

 

Might just be the game being flaky, as I played for 3 hours today with no issue, and the second I went into a town area, I lost sound channel 3.

I also noticed it seems to happen more often in certain areas; I went two hours yesterday before it started to pop up, (all in a new area), but once back in the BeanBean Kingdom (where the savestate is at), it started to act up again...might be coincidence though...

Looks like its sound channel #3 that's acting up. In this case, text doesn't make any sound when displayed, and a few other sound effects are missing...

In Mario & Luigi (the 1st one), one of the sound channels keeps going in/out during gameplay (eg: the sound of coins collected after battle may go missing). I've tried more or less every combination of sound option, and haven't been able to isolate the issue. Tested with/without BIOS, just to ensure ...

Not to beat a dead horse, i think I found where the problem was:

Control Panel -> Display -> Settings -> Advanced -> Troubleshoot -> Uncheck "Enable Write Combining"

Might be worth looking into; unchecking that option fixed a ton of issues ZSNES and Snes9x were giving me.

I can't comment spacy, becuase now everything works with both GPU's on.

A: Got PC, startup info prior to windows login screen not shown on moniter

B: Most emulators can't display properly.

C: Switch to single GPU mode, moniter won't display anything ...

Its not SLI per-say, its hybrid SLI. The 9800 GX2 is really two 8800 GTS wired together on one board, so no SLI setup is needed. Whats really annoying, is that I can take screenshots from the emulators, so the data is there, but is not being outputed correctly. For all i know, is my moniters fault ...

I have to go to the NVIDIA control panel and switch manually to single GPU mode, then restart. VBA works fine after that, and so does pSX and ePSEe.

Now for my next question, is there a way to switch this mode ONLY for a few applications without having to restart every time I ...

Good idea to disable the hybrid SLI on my GX2, but still no-go.

You are right though, is does sound like an output issue, given that screenshots (from within the emulator) work fine. I'm still toying around with things on my end, but have a clue right now...
