After further testing, I found out that this bug only happens when you're using a bios and enable "Skip Bios Logo"

When I start them, I get four rectangles and "Press Start." Then it stops responding. I've tried them with a few versions including the newest, r1084.  Edit:  Sonic Advance http://i44.tinypic.com/2hx2j54.png  Sonic Advance 2 http://i43.tinypic.com/34xqc91.png  They work on VBA 1.8 ...
