possibly higher quality upsampling (e.g., less blurry).

coming from the AVS forums, one of the experts there (dmunsil) is in favor of using the catmull-rom filter for upsampling:   http://archive2.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=4760581   if it's not too much of an overhead, maybe someone can create a catmull-rom filter for vba-m.
