"LAN link is Already Active"

Hi,

 

I'm trying to link my VBA-M to my Gamecube emulator and this message comes up when i try and link them this comes up "LAN link is Already Active. Disable Link mode to disconect". How do i go about this? I've looked everywhere and can't find a solution to the problem.
