Error when creating Battery Saves. (Mac OSX)

Hello there.

 

I keep getting an error which pops up on my screen when the emulator tries to create a Battery Save for Metroid: Fusion. Therefore I cannot save the progress. Upon the last time I played (and entered full-screen mode) the game crashed and I had to hard reset my laptop. Could this be why the game no longer does battery saves properly?

 

Any insight would be appreciated!
