Any ideas on how to speed up VBA-M? I have a slow PC in my room, and it can't quite run Megaman Zero 3 at full speed without stuttering out the ass. When I turned off Syn game to audio, the speed went down, but it became far more fluid.
Â
I've tried turning down the sampling rate to 11000hz, I've tried running it at 1x res. I've tried turning pretty much everything down. I don't use filters at all, so that's not it.
Â
I'd just use no$GBA for this game, but it has audio crackling out the ass on one of the sound channels... Not sure which one.

Support section wouldn't have been a bad one.
Â
Which hardware is that by the way? processor mainly

Pentium 3 933 mhz Coppermine core.
Â
192 megs of SDRAM 100.
Â
Intergrated sound.
Â
XP home SP2.
Â
GeForce 5200 FX PCI.
Â
Edit: I tried to find newer sound drivers, but was unable to. /emoticons/sad@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Â
Yes this is more fitting in the support section.

That's strange....I never had any problems running games on my old P3 866Mhz 64MB RAM and some crappy onboard type card (later to be replaced by 128MB RAM and a Riva TNT2).
It was running Windows 98SE though...so I think that's where your problem lies...that you're running WIndows XP first of all with less than 256MB RAM and secondly on such a weak PC...it kinda tends to take the whole PCs power just to run the OS...other stuff should lag aswell.

Maybew too less RAM ?
Â
The processor should be okay, the graphics card doesn't really matter. Sound doesn't matter as well.
Â
What you can also try is disable cheats and set frame skipping to 1 or 2.
Â
If that doesn't help, you should really try to get some bigger memory sticks for your machine. Shouldn't cost very much.
Â
A Windows-Cleanup could also help. Did you try to disable all other background tasks?

Actually good old SD RAM...if you can even still find it...costs a lot these days...
Â
I am afraid it's just the OS running on such a weak PC...Windows 98 should run MUCH better.

Unfortunately VBA-M (MFC) won't run on anything below Windows 2000.
Â
We could try to work around the few requirements, however.

Don't use any cheats... I'll try frame skipping later. I'm on a different PC due to the one in my room not having internet access.
