General Info:

VBA-M is a [super] Game Boy emulator for Windows, Linux & Mac. Here you can get information about the latest development build of the Windows version and download it while you're at it.

 

 

Changes in this release:

commit latest nasm and kode54's change to gb_oscs that has seemed to have resolved the channel 3 issue in a number of games.

how did the spanish version of fire red get its save type set to eeprom (savetype=1)

Added support for detected FFMPEG include path

cleans up a unary minus unsigned still unsigned warning also fixes channel 3 in Mario and luigi super star saga. DON'T ASK ME HOW, i have no idea. Infact changing other area's affected the channels as well, so i have no idea how the fuck ...

Not a great deal can be said about the last 12 revs, mainly its been tidying up little annoyances in the build process and where configurations are saved when opening multiple instances

 

The best change, well atleast for those users experiencing it is a small change Kode54 applied to the GB_APU which has so far cleared up the issues in games using wave ram(Channel 3)

 

A few of these games come to mind, Mario and luigi super star saga, Telefang 2, Megaman battlenetwork, and im sure there are many more which had issues previously.

Does that change in r1090 mean that I can use r1097 to link, or do I still need to use r1030b?

You still need to use r1030b

 

Win32 builds have always had GBA_Link enabled, but the backend and packet recieve/send code is not fully functional.

 

1030b contains changes from code that adamn was working on on his own. He hasn't been seen for almost a year now and no source is available to merge down the tree.

 

The change in 1090 is only applicable to linux builds of VBA-M, to resolve an issue where certain games fail to run because a certain hardware test/check fails.

A newer build!

 

I just dropped by because I was going to suggest your fine product to a newbie at a ROMs forum I frequent who was still using the ancient 1.7 build of the original VisualBoyAdvance emulator. I was about to suggest the older 956 SVN Build when I noticed this thread advertising a newer build, so instead of suggesting the 956 build I immediately opted to link this thread to my reply to the guy's thread [img]<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/smile.png[/img]/emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20" />

 

But I've got to be honest, I haven't tried this newer build myself yet so I was kind of jumping the gun when I suggested this to him :ashamed:

the 7z is using LZMA2, which requires 7z 9.x+ or Winrar 4x+

slow how? try enabling the Mirroring option under emulation > game overrides and then close and reopen the rom

this game behaves like this on all emulators, its a game issue

Squall, I think, mentioned at some point that big things were in the pipeline for VBA-M, so yes: it is still in active development. As for linking, you're just going to have to stick with revision 1030b; my understanding is that the guy who was working on the linking code vanished from the project after that and took his code with him.
