"Pause when inactive" keeps playing stuck music

Hi all,

 

I'm using VisualBoyAdvance-M-WX Git and when I select "Pause when inactive" and the application loses focus, the music keeps playing but the same second or so over and over again - which sounds very jarring.

 

Is this a known defect or is there some configuration setting I can set to stop the music as well as the emulation when the window loses focus?
