I don't think Direct3D 10 is much better for our purposes as Direct3D 9 or 8 were. However, if VBA-M supported pixel shader effects, I bet people could do more with the latest versions of these as they allow more complex code AFAIK. Btw, if I was good enough, I'd replace the current D3D motion blur (blending textures) with a simple shader file.
